Pendant - Blue Flash Glass (Japan)
This unusual shaped and coloured glass is from Japan, a country that is home to some of the most beautiful sea glass in the world.
The thin layer of light blue on the clear glass is called ‘flash glass’ and at one point would have been a decorative vase or similar in a Japanese household. Now, having spent many years being tumbled in the sea this fragment has new life as a pendant.
The glass has been set in a fine silver open backed bezel to show off its colours and hung on an 20 inch sterling silver belcher chain.
The pendant is 3.9 by .9cms.
