Ring - Chunky With Green Multi (Seaham
This ring has been created using a 7mm wide band which I have added a texture to the band before shaping.
The small piece of green and clear Seaglass was collected from Seaham beach from the old glass factory that stood nearby at the turn of the century. Seaham glass is characterised by its rounded well tumbled shapes and unusual colours.
This is a very rare Cole table piece of glass called a ‘Multi’ is short for multicoloured and referred specifically to these much prized pieces that were created when waste mixed coloured glass from the londonderry bottle company in Seaham was mixed and thrown into the sea at the end of the day. Not very environmentally friendly - but fast forward over 100 years during which time the sea has worked its magic and these are now what makes Seaham internationally renowned for its glass.
The ring is UK size ‘V’ and US size 10 5/8. Please bear in mind that thicker rings can feel tighter so it a good idea to go up a size for comfort.
